Well I suppose it all started for me when I was sixteen or so. I had a bass guitar that I bought off some gippo down the town and I started a band with my mates. (Guaranteed birds! I thought) The truth is none of us could play anything but that didn't put us off.

Anyway; I had an idea for a tune and because I couldn't play it I sang it and that was that. I was nominated the singer.(thank god I dint have to learn that bloody bass! I thought) we did a couple of pup gigs and drifted apart as all kids do in the end.(I wonder what they are up to now? Nah not really!)

In 1990 (way back) I teamed up with Mark Fensome and formed a band called GODZU. along with drummer Mitch and mad 'axeman' Andy on guitar and (Oh Yea!) Mr. Cliff Cummings doing our lighting. (Quite a nice chap I thought.)

We played some rough and ready stuff but people seemed to like it though I'm not sure why. (A bit naff now I look back) Anyway; it got a bit heavy as it does and some people in the band had too big an ego and I had to go. (Didn't see that one coming) So I hung up the mike once again and jammed around with some musoes for a while and tried some new stuff out.

Later I was contacted by Cliff and he asked me to come back to Godzu (now renamed 'Liquid Squid') and give it another go. Me and Ciff renamed the band 20 Dead Camels after he told me his now famous story of how the name came to be.

It wasn't going too bad for a while but as with all things in bands there was a crazy man around to mess things up. This time it was the bass player. (Or was that last time?) He used to get so out of it he couldn't play. That put an end to that one. (This bloody band malarkey is doing my head in! I thought.)

Once again I hung up the mike (Now a little battered) and went to work abroad for a few years.

After getting home sick I came back. To my surprise I heard the 20 Dead Camels were still playing and I went to check them out. (Not bad! I thought) I really liked that sound and went home proud of my old mates.

A couple of months passed and I got a phone call from Cliff. Yep! You guessed it; can I come and sing for the Camels. Well I thought about it for two seconds and said yes and here I am. One more time then......................... Like they say 'You cant keep a good FISH down' (Well you cant, can you?)
